New equity ETFs from UBS on Xetra: exposure to climate-friendly companies from Canada and the USA

Since Monday, three new exchange-traded funds from UBS Asset Management have been tradable on Xetra and via the trading venue Börse Frankfurt

The UBS (IE) ETF MSCI Canada ESG Universal LCS UCITS ETF gives investors access to the largest and highest-turnover companies in the Canadian stock market that are classified as sustainable and climate-friendly. Excluded are companies that are active in controversial business areas such as weapons, tobacco or the extraction of fossil fuels, or that cause high carbon dioxide emissions. Currently, the portfolio includes 72 companies from various industries, with finance, industrials, and IT being among the strongest sectors.

The UBS (IE) ETF S&P 500 Climate Transition ESG UCITS ETF offers a broad investment in the largest US companies in the S&P 500 Index. The selection and weighting of companies is based on the minimum standards of the EU Climate Transition Benchmark with the aim of supporting low-carbon investment strategies. Currently, 369 companies are included in the reference index. The most represented industries are IT, finance, and healthcare. Investors can also choose the ETF in the currency-hedged share class against the euro.
