New equity ETF from SPDR on Xetra: access to the S&P 500 index with the 500 largest US companies

Since Wednesday, a new exchange-traded fund issued by State Street Global Advisors has been tradable on Xetra and via the trading venue Börse Frankfurt.

The SPDR S&P 500 UCITS ETF (Acc) tracks the performance of the S&P 500 index and provides investors with direct access to the 500 largest companies in the U.S. stock market.

The S&P 500 index covers around 80 per cent of the market capitalisation of U.S. companies and is considered the most important measure of the development of the U.S. economy. The companies included in the index can be assigned to different industries, with information technology, healthcare and finance being the most represented together at over 50 per cent. This is an accumulating share class, i.e. the income is reinvested.
