New UBS ETFs on Xetra: promoting a climate-friendly economy
Two new exchange-traded funds issued by UBS Global Asset Management have been tradable on Xetra and Börse Frankfurt since Monday.
With the UBS ETF (IE) MSCI ACWI Climate Paris Aligned UCITS ETF (USD) A-acc and the UBS ETF (IE) MSCI Emerging Markets Climate Paris Aligned UCITS ETF (USD) A-acc, investors have access to two ETFs that minimise the exposure to risks of extreme weather phenomena by 50 per cent and promote a low-carbon economy. The stocks in the index contribute to achieving the goals of the Paris climate agreement, namely limiting global warming to a maximum of 1.5 degrees Celsius and reducing CO2 emissions by 10 per cent annually.
Investors can choose between a global investment in large and medium-sized companies from developed and emerging markets or a targeted investment in companies from emerging markets only.
The index excludes companies that do not comply with the principles of the United Nations Global Compact, are involved in serious ESG-related controversies or are active in the areas of coal, nuclear energy, weapons, gambling, tobacco and genetically modified organisms.
