New Active ETF from Ossiam on Xetra: access to large-cap companies on the US equity market using the Barclays Shiller CAPE Ratio
A new active exchange-traded fund from Ossiam has been tradable on Xetra and Börse Frankfurt since Monday.
The Ossiam Shiller Barclays CAPE US Sector Screened UCITS ETF pursues an active investment strategy and invests primarily in equity companies with high market capitalisation that are listed or traded on recognised markets in the USA. These must belong to one of the ten traditional sectors such as energy, finance, industry, consumer goods or utilities. Environmental, social and governance (ESG) criteria are taken into account when selecting companies.
The investment strategy is based on the relative CAPE ratio and uses this indicator to select the five most undervalued sectors. The sector with the lowest momentum over the last 12 months is then excluded. The remaining four sectors are weighted equally.
The CAPE ratio is a cyclically-adjusted price/earnings ratio that divides the share price by the inflation-adjusted average earnings over the last ten years. This valuation ratio is used to identify undervalued companies and is extended here to equity sectors.
