Release date: 11 Dec 2024

055/2024 T7 Interface Encryption: Decommissioning of support for TLS 1.2 Xetra Circular 055/24

1.    Introduction/Details

Since the introduction of the TLS connectivity option (payload encryption) for ETI Low Frequency (LF) sessions in October 2023, Deutsche Börse has supported TLS 1.2 and TLS 1.3 in parallel.

To further enhance the security and performance of its interfaces and additionally align with the latest industry standards, Deutsche Börse will discontinue the support for TLS 1.2. The support for TLS 1.2 will be decommissioned from 14 March 2025 in the T7 Release 13.0 simulation environment and from 28 April 2025 onwards in the T7 Release 13.0 production environment.

A list of the cipher suites supported by TLS 1.3 can be found in the Network Access Guide which is available on the Xetra website www.xetra.com under the following link:

Technology > T7 trading architecture > System documentation > Release 13.0 > Network Access

2.    Required action

Participants currently using TLS 1.2 must adapt their applications to use TLS 1.3.
