New WisdomTree ETF on Xetra: Focus on sustainable companies from emerging markets without majority state ownership

A new exchange-traded fund from issuer WisdomTree has been tradable on Xetra and Börse Frankfurt since Monday.

The WisdomTree Emerging Markets ex-State-Owned Enterprises ESG Screened UCITS ETF – Acc gives investors access to companies from 17 emerging markets (Brazil, Chile, China, Hungary, India, Indonesia, Korea, Malaysia, Mexico, Philippines, Poland, Russia, South Africa, Taiwan, Thailand, Czech Republic and Turkey) that meet common sustainability criteria and are not state-owned enterprises.

Only companies where the government holds less than 20 per cent of the outstanding shares are selected for inclusion in the index. The selected companies are then weighted according to market capitalization based on free float.

Companies that are not in line with the principles of the United Nations Global Compact, are involved in serious ESG-related controversies, or have significant business activities in the areas of thermal coal, weapons or tobacco are excluded from the index.
